After reading Hull's article, "Blogging Between the Lines," my eyes were opened to the varying concerns regarding blogging as a new phenomenon. Blogging can be quite personal, and while meant to be heavily opinionated, still needs to adhere to rules of ethics. Ethical dilemmas have come to the forefront as more news media outlets are utilizing blogs to connect with audiences over the internet. Frequent blogging by news reporters have gained more attention and subscribers use websites more than reading the editorial section of the physical paper. Used to being more subjective, the news reporters, in addition to maintaining their workload, are now available to express their valid opinion of current events on blog sections. While news outlets are working fast to create blogging guidelines, some, including myself, feel that too many restrictions will cause blogging to lose its essence of thought provoking opinion. I do feel that general writing guidelines help keep the blogger's integrity positive and does no allow for the writer to be sued for copyright or ethical wrongdoings.

Your insight on this article was very enlightening! I do agree if there are restrictions and monitoring of blogging sites, blogging will loose it's essence "freedom of expression".
